1. Copyrights: - Characters commissioned by the Client must be copyrighted to them, or used with proof of permission. The Client is allowed to repost the low-res watermarked work to their personal Furaffinity.net account, blog, website, etc. However, the Artist retains all rights to the artwork, meaning that it cannot be published with the intent to make profits from the work. If the Client wishes to obtain rights, prior contact must be established and a contract agreed to.
2. Initial Contact: Upon the initial contact of the artist, sans reserving a spot if the product is offered on a first come first serve basis, the Client must provide all necessary information. Failure to do so can end in the cancellation of the commission. Information such as Paypal address, Email Address, Mailing Address (if applicable), Reference, and other relevant information must be given. If any commission due dates are needed, they must be addressed at this time.
3. Gallery: All commission pieces that have been commissioned are eligible to be put into the Artists gallery. If the Client does not wish to have their piece in a gallery, please understand that there is an no-show gallery fee, which varies between pieces. If however, there is a certain date the Client does not want the Artist to post the work until, the Artist must know ahead of time, at time of commission. If the Client does not let the Artist know upfront, they cannot promise a date to be held for posting. Artist reserves the right to not post work in their gallery.
4. Payment: Payment is expected to be prompt and on time. Unless there is another date agreed upon, payment is expected to be paid within 48hrs of commission request. If the Client does not pay within 48hrs, the Artist reserves the right to drop the commission. Payment is expected in full unless previously discussed. Payments need to made before work begins.
a. Quotes: If you ask for a quote on artwork, that quote is good for 10 days, after that a new quote must be requested.
b. Refunds: If the work has been finished, and the Client is not happy with it, refunds are not available. The Client is responsible at the sketch stage to tell the Artist what to change, and once the Artist get past that stage, full refunds are not available if work has been completed. Refunds are based on the work the Artist has finished. If the Artist needs to offer a refund due to any reason, refunds cannot be refused.
c. Cancellations: If the Client decides to cancel the commission, please let the Artist know as soon as possible. If work has been started on the commission, only refunds for work that has not yet started can be issued.
5. Edits: Some of the the services the Artist offers does not have sketches before approval. Any that do, has a maximum of 1 edit. Any edits after that will have a $10 dollar surcharge. These will need to be paid before the work is finished. Please carefully review the sketch stage and decide what needs changing.
a. References: All references must be given at once, at the acceptance stage of the commission. Any after that will be refused. If references are not sent with in one week of payment, the Artist reserves the right to cancel the commission and refund the Client.
b. Replies: All replies during all stages of work must be done in a timely manner. One waiting week between each contact is allowed between both the Client and the Artist. If work is completed and after one week the Artist does not hear from the Client, the job will be considered finished, and no changes can be made. Only exception to this if the Client has a previous dialog with the Artist about longer reply dates if away from electronic communication.
6. Completion of work: If the Client has a certain date that they absolutely need the commission completed by and mailed by, the Client must say so upon the initial contact of the commission. Only minor errors may be corrected at the Artists discretion. If allowed, only one edit can be made, and any after that will have an added surcharge added to it, based on the amount of work that needs to be corrected. These changes can only be requested for one week after the artist has sent the final product to the Client.
a. Physical Prints: All commissions over $100 come with a complimentary 4x6 print that will be mailed to you. This will not be replaced if damage occurs during shipping unless Client wishes to pay to have it reproduced. Other print sizes are available for a surcharge and must be discussed at the beginning of the commission process.
b. Physical Shipping: The Artist reserves to let art accumulate to do batch mailings, within one month of finishing the piece. The Artist cannot be held responsible for damages that happen while mailing a product. If the Client wants the artwork insured, they must let the Artist know during initial contact. The Client must let the Artist know their mailing address for product during initial contact.
