I can't believe you're going to be gone for moons. All the way across the state. I'm sorry I couldn't help you, even though we went through the same things... I'm sorry that your father hurt you, sorry that I screw up, and sorry that now you're doing terrible being in the hospital. I'm sorry you're alone there... I wish I could see you, hug you, and sit on the roof with you... and now you'll be gone for so long. Just know that I'll welcome you back with open arms. After all, having been close friends since second grade makes me think of you as a sister.
And when you come home I'm throwing you a party. We'll have our favorite songs, a bonfire, our dogs running around... it'll be great. And we can chase the fireflies... and our friends will come, all of us will bring some food and just chill. Just like how it used to be, before those bastards hurt us.
