fangcon was an unparalleled success this year. Everyone had a good time, our numbers were up, there were no major incidents, and we even had good local press from three different sources. The swag was sweet, the giant twister was fun, and the giant hippie bus photo shoot was well used. However, there was one down side...Draconis, our con chair suffered a heart attack this past Tuesday as we were preparing to return to Memphis. Fortunately, he ended up in a really great facility, Parkwest Hospital, that is known for heart surgery. Draconis has seven blockages in his arteries and will have at least six of them repaired tomorrow morning. There is a very real possibility that he will not make it. I am a nervous wreck. I just now returned from Knoxville to attend to business obligations. I wouldn't be much good there right now anyway. There are furs there taking care of him and watching out for him in my stead. furrydramashow, which would make him quite happy. I will be temporarily taking over the
furrydramashow until his return. This means that I will be on stage at 
f3con in about a week. Hopefully, Draconis will be back in Memphis by the time I return home so that I can help take care of him until he heals.I also want to thank all of the staff, volunteers, and attendees for pulling together and making
fangcon such a great con this year. I look forward to seeing you all next year. I also want to thank all of you who have given me moral support about Draconis. Those close to me know how much he means to me as a friend and fellow fur.
I too am worried, but knowing him, he'll scare the plaque out of him rather than having the surgeons do it :)

I'll be praying for both of you and hope the surgery works out okay. I hope he heals fast and feels a LOT healthier with more energy after the physical therapy.

I know how frightening it is for you to be in the position of having him undergo this procedure so I offer you my support as well. I send you both my best wishes for his rapid recovery and return to his normal irascible self.

For some reason, I was under the impression that y'all were back in Memphis when the heart attack hit. I know you two are close, and with you having to return to Memphis, makes the waiting and worrying that much more difficult.. Hang in there my friend, Draconis is a tough old cougar. He'll pull through and we'll have to continue to put up with him for a long time. Maybe to the point we might have to consider taking him for an elevator ride..
