okay, so here's the deal... the PS3 can play PS1 and PS3 games (a limited number of release PS3's have PS2 backwards compatibility).

PS4 can play PS4 games, and through the GaiKai streaming (rental) program, PS3 games... there is discussion on PS1 and PS2 being possible, but there is no discussion at the moment on this.

now I know nothing of the XBOXs, seeing as I was NEVER interested in them, but Microsoft had to knock $150 off the XBOX ONEs price to compete.

I see I know that you can download some PS1 and 2 games from the PlayStation network but can you play thoue same games on the ps4 like you can on the ps3 and ps vita

I cannot, and I could never play the ps2 games available from the PSN, it appears they're exclusive to those special PS3s.
