But I seem to get the bad eggs of artists. The ones that take my money and then disappear, give me a W.I.P. and then I never hear from then again...maybe I should just shut down commissioning artists and just return to being a watcher =/
Surely, i'm not the only one. I guess you got on a bad luck streak?
What happened in your case?
Like you pay up and magically they all go on ''hiatus'' at the same time and dissapear from the net?
I've heard that happening much, much often (from others). I understand the feel though.
One case I commissioned an artist roughly a year and a half ago (Or maybe 2 years). Granted they have been busy, but 1.5/2+ years of waiting...gets difficult, especially when it is compounded by
Another case. I commissioned an artist shortly after xmas last year (on the 28th I believe). I hear back from the artist in early October of this year, asking if I wanted a commission wherein I had to explain to them I already purchased one and re-gave them the details. Nowhere near as long, but seeming to forget I commissioned you is a bit of a kick (not to mention, trying to sell another commission to me when you have not finished the first one yet). A month? At worst case, okay (given the guy takes time to explain himself). But 2 years!? And the one that ''forgot'' about you? I mean, for real??
And what kind of artist doesn't keep track of which commishes needs to be done?
Thread carefully I guess. I'm glad I never did commission others - but that's a special case (waay too picky actually, haha)
