Goldfinger, a classic

Ahh, but is it? Goldfinger may not have been quite as bad for his speeches as some of the later villains, but he did start a trend...

I always thought it was interesting how the movie The Fifth Element handled the villain/protagonist relationship. The plot is arranged such that the hero and the bad guy never once actually meet face to face, nor are they even all that aware of the others' existence or involvement in the story. We still do get a villain speech or two out of the guy, but it's directed towards sources other than the main character.

That was a great film. For a long time I thought the villein was played by Howie Mandel.

Great visuals... and I never realized the hero and villein never met. Now that's interesting.

His villein speech was particularly interesting as it was almost something I could see people using in real life.

The movie Falling Down completely breaks the hero/villain mold, in my opinion. It took me a long time to decide who the real 'bad guy' was, and I'm still not entirely sure of my answer.

If you've never seen it, you should know that it's quite violent but really a fantastic movie for the plot and premise.
