Here's an idea: How about we all PLEEEEAAAAASSEE stop talking about the downtime? It's making me feel scared it might be a permanent one!

I guess a lot of people are just worried about being unreachable for a couple of hours. Assuming maintenance goes according to plan, anyway.

The maintenance never goes to plan. The best downtime since I've been here "only" went 3 times longer than projected. They've borked stuff during "routine" upgrades that have taken the site down for the better part of a week.


For watchers like me, it's just a bummer. Websurfing time turns into video game time. For artists trying to make money, it's a disaster.

I dunno. Most of the downtimes I see FA schedule seem to go according to plan. The bad downtimes are the unexpected ones.

It could be.. after all, Dragoneer just unveiled that for the past year, a guy with a known (flawless) history of hacking and hijacking everything he's ever touched, has been working on FA in secret, and was just outed. And he just left in a fit. So..... who the fuck knows at this point?

I'd just keep my shit backed up.

Alternatively, Inkbunny has a script to automagically port all your gallery to it. Would be a good place to use for a backup. Plus, IMHO, it's the single best site out there right now- best design, best code, best hardware, best bandwidth, best staff, least restrictive rules, and most financially stable.
