Rather than set a date I figure I'll end it when I reach a certain plateau! 300 seems close enough, so even if I have to wait until next year at least it's a goal haha

Nope, it`s not against the rules as long as it`s not a mandatory requirement to enter. When people were making it mandatory the amount of journal flooding was causing all kinds of problems including making the website lag. As long as it`s optional it is allowed. I made sure to read the new rule carefully and mods who have spoken about it have said the same thing :)

Some times artists will have line art that you can color for free to get a reference sheet or you'll find someone willing to do it for free.You could even commission it if you have money for that sort of thing.
