I've been getting messages from random people on AIM lately, and I suspect they're probably from people watching me either here or on AGNPH. And that's cool, I'm always happy to talk to new people on the internet.
But if you're going to message me on AIM, please send me a note or drop me an email first to let me know who you are. Because if I see a message from an AIM name that doesn't match the name of anyone on my watch list or doesn't correlate with anyone I've seen on AGNPH, I'm probably going to ignore it. And I don't want you to think it's because I'm being a dick. I'm just not fond of repeating the experience of getting a crippling virus through AIM because of talking to someone who randomly messaged me.
