Ok so, that happened

On Friday I was in a major car accident.
I was stopped at a red light, had been for 30 seconds at least when a large black truck plowed into the back of my car, no brakes, just...boom.
Glass flew everywhere and lets just say I shouted a couple of obscenities. I pulled myself out of the car, already unsteady, and started to make my way toward the truck, when suddenly he turned his wheels and started to drive right at me, he hit me (not my car, me) not fast, but still pretty hard, he then pushed me across the street, coming within a foot of crushing my legs up against another car at the intersection. I pulled myself out of the way and he sped off, luckily I had the wherewithal to get his license plate.
Lets just say I'm going to press charges.
I can't believe this kind of crap, who seriously thinks that they can run from something like that nowadays, especially after actually hitting the guy you just crashed into.
Now if your wondering, i'm ok, very sore and bruised but i'm a pretty big guy and can take some punishment.
But now, i'm without a car :/

Glad to hear you're not too badly injured though.
I hope that by now they found him (going from the assumption you already called or went to the police).
I wasn't even in the car with you and I'm mad, I swear people are getting dumber and dumber when it comes to winter driving!
Either it was a young driver and panicked so they ran...or it's an experienced one that doesn't have insurance so ran.
I am glad that you are alive though, seeing how that stupid jackass could have killed you.
I hope that your insurance will be able to help you in getting repairs or getting you a new car, or at least a decent used one.
he must of been drunk off his face to react and do that. i hope you get it somewhere!
make sure to take pictures of injuries to you and damage to the car. pictures taken after the accident but before the car is moved from the road are best.
if your injuries heal then its hard for the judge to get an idea of how bad you were.
if you have anything internal (whiplash etc) then get a doctor to confirm it. if a medical professional doesn't confirm it and it is not still affecting you later in court then you cannot claim it.
please keep us posted on what happens from this point on, and let us know what kinda punishment the guy/girl gets.
would probably be a good idea to go have a chat with a legal expert as to what to do now.

as far as the car goes, are you okay on that front? i know a few people who have been crashed into and their cars are either underinsured or written off and the compensation wasnt enough to get a new one.
As a professional driver I see stupid stuff going on all the time on the roads. Last week was a very stressful week for me, so by Friday I just called in sick... I just couldn't deal with another day's worth of bad drivers. :'(
Get yourself to a doctor and get checked out regardless of how you feel. Some injuries aren't apparent right away but start to become more serious days later.
Take care of yourself and pursue this through the police!

but man, you're really a tough cookie then, you just goes and says: "it's just a truck that hit me, no biggie". i mean sure, some punishment is cool, but a fucking truck?!

What a bastard, what an unbelievable bastard that driver is. Lord.
I'm not surprised at their lack of reaction, cops are so useless these days. I tried to report a man I saw violently kicking his dog a few weeks ago to a cop and he was absolutely uninterested in looking into it.

I don't know whether the guy in the truck was too callous to care or was an abject coward, but I'm better on the latter. If it's any consolation, he's probably sitting at home absolutely terrified of it catching up with him. And it will.
I'm glad to hear you aren't badly injured, too. Car crashes are never fun. I wish you a speedy recovery, and much luck in the court case.
