Maybe there will be delayed Justice...hopefully...Or at least something to try and...not make things worse...Is it just me or are some cops held to a very different degree when it comes to stuff like this?...(If you could move, if you don't mind my asking, where to? Canada? The UK?...elsewhere?)

if i could move? Somewhere far north like Finland or Norway. Somewhere where there is practically no crime with better schools and better people. *sighs* its only a dream but its a nice dream to have...

From what I heard the cop never even got a trial. They just took one look and told him he is free to go. This is just jumpsuit. And now they are gonna wonder why fergusen people are gonna be pissed and revolt violently. Espicially since peacefully protests only get people maced in the face and shot.

Chi, I love you, and you know I respect everything and everyone's opinion, but sometimes I have to put in my 2 cents. Yeah, its pretty upsetting that the officer got away without any sort of justice to him, but here's the thing. Media. Media only covers what will get the most reaction and most string-pulling they can. We cannot trust the media in any way shape or form. Its all word, and if there is evidence, it is usually misconstrued. With that being said, he didn't get away completely free. For the rest of this officer's life, he is going to have to live with the negativity of what he did wrong, and probably see's that kid in his dreams every night. He will be reminded of it forever. The justice system is indeed screwed up, and often times leans towards the side if feels would be the better interest, but I doubt a story that gains national attention would have been overlooked so easily. By saying America sucks etc. etc, You're saying that EVERY person (police officers, criminal investigators, law men/women, etc.) failed at doing their jobs to bring one man into justice. Hypothetically, If all of these people overlooked the evidence and failed to bring him in, they shouldn't be in their fields. By you as a person, complaining about the justice system and opting to "not go in that field", You are in turn, allowing the justice system to fail because you don't want to help do the right thing. Ex. Teaching sucks (you said schools suck in America already in this post). I agree. Teachers are screwing around and mostly to blame is Administration and Standardized Testing. What am I doing? I'm going to college so I can do MY BEST to try and change things in that area. Its a small attempt, but at least I'm trying. I completely agree with Bluewolf69. If you think life outside America is better in some other distant land and state, you're wrong. Every place has problems, and no matter how much running you do, you will never be able to escape it. Life sucks, but you have to make the best difference you can. I know you're going to be angry with me for this tangent, but I hope you'll still talk to me in the future.

I almost posted something this long and everything else and just decided to leave it because I didnt want to start drama/i dont know Chi at all i don't think...

I'd also like to add that the real victims here, regardless of the verdict, are the people there who are now having their businesses and livelihoods destroyed by the actions of the rioters and looters, The rioters and looters who have turned peaceful protests into violent outbursts have ruined any chance of sympathy in my book. They probably also have hurt chances of reform as they've essentially vindicated the police department and governments attitudes towards the community. I understand they're mad and angry but these violent outbursts arent going to help matters. They're just making everything worse.

I agree completely. It's kind of a giant spiral downwards... like dominoes. I have a strong gut feeling that the town is going to have its rampage and put more issues along the line, but hopefully everything will work itself out. I pretty much never start any drama ever, and Chi knows me IRL because he's a really close friend. I just didn't want to post on his FB because I didn't want his friends to get angry either, you know?

I'm thankful most of my friends seem to just be avoiding the subject entirely on my FB...

The problem is its not just the town, there are other towns/cities having issues (Oakland if i remember right) where this has sparked similar, albeit less intense, violence... Its really not a good thing..
