I don't get out much. And I *know* it will take all of 3 seconds to google it and 3min. or less to figure out what it means but...What do *you* mean by "sketchbook auction"?

Where I get a new sketchbook and set a limit for how many sketches, inked pieces and colored pieces I will draw in the sketchbook for the highest bid. Done people do it in a ladder style where the higher the bid the more you get done. And then once the auction is over and the book is full of it's allotted drawings it's sent out to it's new owner to enjoy and continue to fill.

And how much say does the high bidder have in the content of said Sketchbook?

I've not worked out how much. I was thinking a starting bid of around 50$ with bid increments of maybe 2-5$. And whoever had the highest bid before the time limit for the auction would win.

Price range is irrelevant. The unknown - excepting an Autobuy - is the very nature of an auction. No, I was referring specifically to *content*...

I was thinking of starting it with maybe 1-2 colored, maybe around 6 inked and 10 sketches. Probably making the amount of what is done more/better I'm quality as the bid would reach certain numbers. Doing more colored and inked pieces or increasing the amount of each by so much.

I kind of figured that too. No, I mean, Will you be taking Requests from the winner? Or just doing your own thing? Is it like winning a whole mess of commissions or buying a bunch of the artist's personal musings?

Oh, yes. It's whatever the winner wants. It's like buying a lot of commissions.

How many pages in the Sketchbook in question? Smooth or rough paper? Dimensions? Ring-bound or glued seam? OR *lightbulb!* the heap big winner buys it for you...?

The thing is to already have a sketchbook bought so as soon as the bidding is over the artist can get to work. Each drawing would get it's own page. So whatever the final number of sketches, inks and colored pages would be the number of pages worked in the book. It would be of a good quality smooth papered sketchbook. Preferably hardbound so that the buyer would get something they could have for a long time to cherish.

I simply prefer ring-bound, so either side of each sheet can be easily used. I hate wasting paper...

How comfortable are you working in miniature?
And you wouldn't object if the Winner wanted all Sketches, right?

If that's what the winner wanted I would be more than happy to oblige. And if the winner were to want a different style of sketchbook I'm sure that could be discussed as well.

What exactly do you mean by working in miniature? And I personally hate wasting paper myself haha.

Well, I realize it's not for everyone, but I used to do some pencil landscapes in 2.5x3.5" spaces. I'm certainly not wondering if you would work quite that small, but quartering the pages on an 8x11" or bigger Sketchbook doesn't seem too unreasonable to me. Barring an artist's comfort zone and the scope of what is being drawn, of course...

That could be done I suppose. Wouldn't really be too hard.
