Langurhali Seasons/Holidays + One Decade...
11 years ago
~ ~ ~ ~• Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ •~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ • ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~• Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ •~ ~ ~ ~ I have only had vague ideas as to the celebrations of the Langurhali; they celebrate each season and give thanks to their Willow. Beyond that, I never really wrote any specific details. I suppose it would help to consider their atmosphere/ecosystem, which I did already have some thoughts on.
Spring would certainly be a time of replenished life with all kinds of flowers and insects filling the air and fields, and construction would begin for repairing any damage done during the last year. Summer would be a time of planting and breeding; lots of hard work, but also a time to enjoy warmth and growth. Autumn would of course be preparation for winter, harvesting, relishing in the joys of food and family as the weather becomes cooler and radiant oranges, reds and yellows fill the Willow. The Langurhali would begin fatting up a bit around this time, and feel a bit exhausted after all the planting and harvesting of the last two seasons. I'm thinking that the Langurhali would be less tolerant of the cold (of course, this would depend on the individual in some cases, such as Langurhali that are part polar bear or something), so they would pack themselves into their houses and go through a kind of hibernation phase, as the Willow's leaves fall and the long tendrils become coated in ice, a glistening, silvery tree of long icicles... covering the ground below with rainbows of light as the sun passes through; quite a sight to behold.
While all the seasons would have fairly mild weather, there would be one very big, long week of extreme weather prior to each season's beginning, causing each season to end and begin rather abruptly, but still with some manner of grace. This would be called the Season's End Week. There would be the benefit of predictability with the weather and seasons, at least. The Willow could easily give them perfect, continuously mild weather year-round, but it wanted the Langurhali to have something to help them measure time, and to be prepared for life on Earth outside its atmosphere, just in case anything should ever happen to it, the Langurhali would have some idea how to prepare for each season.
The beginning of Spring would have a day of downpours and thunder storms, Summer a week of heat and drought. The Langurhali would have to dig deep trenches leading into creeks and rivers, and save water from the Spring to prepare for Summer. Autumn would have the mildest week, with Winter being the hardest, so they often celebrate Autumn as a kind of "calm before the storm". They prepare for Winter by preserving foods and making thick fabrics to cover their windows and keep warm with in their dens. The tunnels below ground are checked and reinforced so they don't cave in, and the Langurhali use these throughout winter for faster travel below the snow, especially for the first week's huge, freezing blizzard. Many of the Langurhali's constructions may fall and need re-built in the Spring, stronger and better with each year's new beginning.
I would love to hear your thoughts/ideas; maybe share some specific way your own Langurhali would celebrate and/or prepare for one or all seasons?
Also, it's been one decade since I officially created the Langurhali. I originally wrote them into a story I made when I was 7 years old, but they weren't the focus of it and didn't have a name nor the history they have now. <3 Thank you all for inspiring and encouraging me with your participation in creating Langurhali, group activities, encouraging words, and generally making their whole existence such a positive experience for me. ;u;

All langurhalis invited and they kinda celebrate the food gathering. Like a festival with lots and lots of food and supplies, sharing them sitting together on a fire and telling stories and such! eeep ~<3 Also trading food and supplies. just like a big "come together" thing (and sorry for my bad english in explaining, Im from germany)
