As far as I know, there is no Family Day here where I live, (Texas), but I'm not too sure that would be a good thing if we did. XD

I want to be mopey and say nothing... but.. yea, we did things as a family a long time ago.

When I was 10? I can remember making popcorn, while dad fried chicken and we packed a cooler with Sodas, mom made Potato salad and and some mashed taters for me, I always hated the salad.
We would get some big bags of candy and such, put this in the car.. then goto the drive in theater at about 6pm, just before sunset, others would be there.. lots and lots of people.
Everyone would have their own food because they concession stand was closed on these days... and then.. the Fire works would start, it was dark and warm and you had the best fucking view in the world, or so I thought at 10.
And I would eat chicken and taters and drink soda, and my brother would make dumb jokes and dad would tell about the Fire works in China and other parts of asia...

and that was Sundays in summer in San Jose California when I was 10 .....

Family? Mais non, Joe... today in Manitoba, we celebrate TRAITORS.

I think its just a made up holiday to stay in tune with America's President's Day today.

I was annoyed when i heard of this family day. (I was in China the for the first time teaching english.) I think it is a waist cuz we have so many other holidays that are clearly marked out on the calendar but nobody celebrates, they just cludder being unused. Now we have another useless day that only hurt the students. Another day off just means more work later. I dont mean to rant but there are things that need to be done and inventing holidays is not one of them.

President's Day for us here in the U.S...though "Family Day" sounds so much more friendlier.

never heard of suuch a holiday. hmm all I did today was rip a bunch of cds eat some kfc and try to catch up on FA some.oh and looked over my LJ friends list for the first time in 8 months or so

I'm unaware as to whether or not there's a family day in the USA, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be doing anything with my family (unless it was referring to my kids).

Well, here in Germany we don´t have a special family day. But it ain´t written in stone that you HAVE TO celebrate it on a certain day, so we spend time with each other whenever we want to!

Why can't I live near Canada!? :/ Canada has all the fun stuff, like boy toys and interestingly named holidays and stuff
