I've never understood why people give the steam games away to strangers. Did you just have it laying around and don't want to play it? Perhaps someone gave it to you, but you already had it? Or maybe this is a social experiment of some type? Did... did you accidentally drive over a puppy on your way to work, and now you're trying to abate the guilt by doing something totally unrelated? Or maybe you hacked into an enemy's account to steal a copy and you're getting rid of it. Are you drunk/high and this 'seems like a good idea at the time'?
Rather than getting the game, I would prefer a genuine answer to that question, beyond the standard answer of "it's being nice". Why not give it away to a steam friend, instead of a total stranger, even if the stranger is a follower?
It's the month of giving, I enjoy being generous, the code only cost me three dollars, and I plan on giving out an additional copy to somebody on my friends list.
