I Dislike Marvel Crossover Event Comics
Seriously enough with the constant Major Marvel events Crossovers already. Sure it's awesome to have a major event crossover comic every once a year, however major crossovers happen almost every month. While fans are reading an event comic, Marvel announces another one coming. It's nice to have big event comics but it's also nice to take a break and to not force down what's happening at Marvel right now.
Crossovers like Infinity Gauntlet, (which affect the entire universe) are awesome, because they reward the fans and introduce them to the Marvel Universe in an exciting manner. But by having a crossover comic every five minutes simply turns the reader off. I think that Marvel wants to cement their status as the top comic book company and to prevent them from having another bankruptcy like they did back in the late 90's. But by throwing out too many books their way just stops old readers coming back and it deters new readers who want to get into comics.
A crossover should be reserved for something special, and it shouldn't just be an advisement to one of their comic book movies!
Besides, most of them are poorly written, hero vs hero story-lines.

People afraid to get into comics because they are afraid of catching up on continuity. That's bullshit in my opinion. What isn't is all the current continuity. All the constant crossovers and events are bleeding into ongoings so badly that it's getting difficult for solo books to tell their own goddamn stories without something coming along to screw it up and make it really hard to tell what's going on.
Also, I'd argue Infinity Gauntlet was great because it didn't really have any long term events. They're great for a big bombastic smackdown but we don't need goalposts changed so damn much. >.=.<
