I have amazingly bad luck...

Got my poi swings yesterday night, unpacked em and they weren't working. They were kinda cold so I pulled the batteries out and sure enough they were cold as ice. After warming them up they both worked great.
So it gets dark, I go outside to play around with them. They look cool and are fun, if heavier and harder to do wraps with at the moment. I'm out there for maybe 10 minutes and while spinning em I feel one side get a lot lighter all of a sudden and just think "...shit.." Sure enough, the ball lands on the other side of the patio concrete. The small string connecting the ball to the main string (via turning link) broke and I figure that's the worst of it.
Oh no. Not with my luck. That little string passes through two little plastic loops on the ball itself to hold it on, tiny bits compared to the over all surface area, I mean these things might be at most 2% of the total surface area...if that. Guess what the ball landed on. It apparently landed square on one of those loops, completely destroying it.
So now I have to figure out how to make it usable. My options are limited I think, I can try to put a small eyelet in the hole under the loop and epoxy it. Or I can see if I can find a long sock or something similar like I've seen some people do.
I dunno what yet.

One way or another, I WILL be having fun with these, they're too cool not to.
