I Chased Him with a Sword...

Some thieves tried to steal my trailer tonight about 11PM CST. It was parked in front of my shop, attached to my car and about 20 feet from where I was sitting in my office. A few months ago, I had a different trailer stolen from behind my shop. The thieves cut a heavy chain and pushed it through a hedge to get it last time. I was working on my computer and heard a muffled thump. I looked out of my window and saw a reflection of a car running light in the window of the building across the street. I thought that light shouldn't be there, and then I saw the trailer moving. I hollered at Draconis, who was resting in the other room, but apparently he didn't hear me, which was probably good since he didn't need the excitement after his heart surgery. I grabbed a katana sword by the front door and charged out into the night screaming obscenities at an African American who probably crapped his pants to see a crazy old white guy running at him waving a sword. He booked it around the corner and I ran after him. I skidded to a halt when I realized I was trying to face down two African Americans in a pickup truck and all I had was a sword. I turned on my heel and ran for cover. The truck came at me and barely missed me as I was able to duck between a hedge and a tree. They missed me by a step. The truck almost scraped the curb trying to hit me and sped off. I didn't have time to take a picture of the truck, nor could I identify the thieves, unfortunately. A security company car from the business around the corner (I'm in a light industrial complex) came up seconds after the vehicular assault. I told them to chase the truck. They did, but it got away. The thieves had cut a hitch lock and unchained two chains and unfastened the light harness and had the trailer prepped for their truck to hook onto it and go. Had I been a little less alert, they would have succeeded. I have made it all but impossible to get tonight as I have pulled a few tricks that I know to make it hard for them. I will have the trailer stashed somewhere else tomorrow.

motherfuckers be everywhere. *nods* glad you are alright
You should invest in a firearm, even
if it is just to scare them off >:D
Do you have a dog?
A dog might scare them away cx
I'm glad to hear that you guys are alright, and that your trailer wasn't stolen again, hopefully someone will catch those pathetic excuses for human beings.
I tend to be somewhat less restrained. The ineluctable logic behind sustained automatic weapons fire is obvious to even the dumbest of criminal types.
Time to invest in a nice shotgun. A charge of shot into a tire or radiator works wonders to convince people that they had really rather be somewhere else.
Anyway, glad to hear that you thwarted the theft and didn't get hurt in the process.
Seriously you are totally bad ass :) *hugs*
Glad to hear you're safe, and you still have your trailer. We don't need both you and Draconis down. It sets a bad precedence for us greymuzzles.
Have you thought about removing the rims/tires off the trailer while it's parked? A lot of people do that around here. It's inconvenient when you need to use it, but if you think about it, how often do you really drag the thing around?
