The Times Are A'Changing

Posting this mostly to get my previous journal off the front page...
But I just saw an ad on TV where a son gets his father a Doctor Who DVD set for Christmas...
This blows my mind, the fact that it's perfectly acceptable for a 'grown up' to get DVDs of a children's show is fantastic.
Merry Christmas everyone!

I suppose I brought this on myself :P
On balance...I'd say........yes?
I mean, at it's best, it's much better than just a kids show.
And they should aim for that.
But it's not like it deals with serious, "adult" issues.
Not that I'm saying they need to, that's not what I'm looking for in Doctor Who.
I suppose the main reason for my comment is that if it had been 15 years ago, any adult would have been apologetic about asking for it for Christmas.
("What did you get for Christmas" conversations would have been awkward)
So to have companies actively encouraging it was quite a moment for me.
