Back from MFF; Updates and Future Plans
Welp, I had a good time at MFF for the most part, other than the obvious (evacuating the whole hotel at 1am for 3 hours into the cold). It was great meeting new and old faces, so if I saw you there, thanks for stopping by! I have a few take-home digital commissions I'm gonna get on right away. I had long chats with my good friends, got lots of tips and ideas from them, particularly about comics.
I've never done comics before, and often I wonder what kind of thing would be best to do first, simple test pages? Stories unrelated to my main? That kinda thing. and how I might send them to print or get funded. I'll perhaps gear my Patreon towards that when I can.
I got sick with the flu as soon as I was leaving, so I feel a bit out of it. But in the coming days I'll upload a bunch now that the notification system works again. This month is always a bit hard to work around with the holidays, but I'll be working on getting owed pieces done and getting rid of my backlog. I still have some I promised from AC I'd do, so if you're one of them, note or email me about it or I'm likely going to clear that list.
Future con plans are always FWA and AC. Had a thought about TFF but unlikely...there's just a lot of work I want to get done, making a book or otherwise. Still waiting on some merchandise like the Krystal Daki (sorry it's taken so long to get those in, I'm still waiting)
Anyway, thanks for stickin' around, I always appreciate the support and comments!

4. PROFIT!!!
Definitely start small and plan it out carefully before committing. :)
Well; it's a good idea!
Sex-based stuff or standard?
I know someone with a comics project looking for a talented artist, but it's a long term one...
Fml. Maybe next year. :(
How long you've been going to FWA? I've been attending since 2009 (except for 2013), and only met you a couple of AC's ago (and you spotted me first, at that)

This should get you started, but I'll answer anything you want me to, just have Kerra poke me about when youw ant to talk.
Comics are a whole other ball of wax from illustrations. I saw one book at one of the big dealers there, which looked nice enough, but as comics went, was basically illustration work put one after the other.. but not really sequential storytelling. Looked pretty, but had no flow to it. One has to balance panels that can start an action or a mood, are in the middle of it (have a sense of immediate past and many possible futures) then resolve it, leaving the audience satisfied. Miles-DF's mini-stories made up of separate illustrations are akin to this, and it's a great way to get a feel for it. Then comes many panels in a page, and then all bets are off. :) I expect you'd have people commission a scene as a one-page comic, something like that? Excellent way to learn and get in the groove. A few of your previous pieces would work well as a situation that gets introduced, developed then could end with that final panel being the piece in question. (Ride in the Park as an example.)
How much time to spend on sketching each panel will be found by sheer practice...
Anyways I'm sorry you fell ill after the con! I always made sure to drink lots of water and take immunity boosting vitamins when going places with a lot of people.
I really hope you feel better soon! The flu really seems to be rampant this month.
But take care for now and hopefully we can talk business again later :D
