Wow what a busy busy week.
I shot down to SFO Wednesday to hop a redeye out to Chicago and running on very little sleep, got in Thursday morning. The room was ready so I crashed for a bit and then started suiting in the good ol, world beaten fox while I waited for the roomies to arrive. It was a mostly relaxing day and not much happened other than running around in suit and re-connecting with folks. There was a rubberfurs party that night but I was tired enough that I didn't get up to squeaking, just stopped by in fursuit instead and promised to make up for it the next night.
Friday I tried to catch up on sleep a bit and suited again before getting my gear together for the hockey event. I brought most of my gear this year so I didn't have to borrow as much stuff. The skill level was pretty even and everyone kept up. Physically it's been so long since I skated or was that active that it hurt quite a bit to play again, and I certainly felt it the rest of the con. After we got back from hockey, I killed a bit more time before finally suiting up in the rubber and pony gear. It's not easy to get into all of it, but it was nice to finally get all four hooves on and be wrapped proper. The rubberfur party had moved and was two rooms over from mine, so it worked out nicely like that. I only popped in for a moment, maybe 30 minutes before I went back to my room since things were getting... frisky in there. That's when Heffboom was nice enough to snap this pic: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15182457/ before I de-suited. After that I ran off to the inflatables party to hang out and drink beer. Made it back to the room and passed out, etc.
Saturday was more suiting, running around and catching up with folks. Nothing of monumental note that day. We did got out to Gibson's for steak that night and it was damn good. The upside was I was well fed and taken care of by the time "THE EVENT TO END ALL CONS". I was chilling and drinking beer on the first floor when the word came through to evacuate. Eventually the alarms went off and we hustled through the lobby. I could smell chlorine, so I knew it wasn't a false alarm like most con events end up being. I ended up running into two of my roomies outside and the other reached me by phone so I knew we were out. Otherwise I shuffled with the herd into the convention center where we all cuddled together for warmth and sang campfire songs together while burning down the dog show... those poor dogs... also.. seeing some of the folks forced out in squeaky gear.. I was actually kinda jealous. >.> Anyway I made it back to the room by 5am to sleep and managed to get a few hours before I woke up.
Sunday was more running around, again not much of note aside from the running about in suit and hanging out. My roomies all checked out that day though which left me alone for the night. As dead dog set in I had some fun locking a certain plush suit on someone aaaand then eventually going back to the room on my own to clean things up and get packed. I stayed up way too late, and only barely slept before I was up again. I spent the extra time in the morning trying to get the room super tidy before checking out for my flight.
http://t.co/D8A2NQWk17 ~ and it would seem according to this... that I am now a god of cleanliness for my troubles, cause 1034 was mah room! *snoopydance* It just goes to show, all it takes is a little anal dedication to keeping the room neat, kicking everyone else out a day earlier, and leaving like a $500 bribe... err tip to the maid... (actually I did tip, but it wasn't at all unreasonable and bribe like). Worth mentioning. We have four guys in the room, a roll away bed, my hockey gear, two of us had rubber (and believe me that rubbering makes a mess of things) and my fox sheds... so yeah I worked hard to stay ahead of the mess and make sure we got out clean. :3
Monday I flew back, which was an event in it's own. While we were boarding the plane some lady collapsed off to the side. Just fainted away. A couple of folks rushed to help her so I stayed out of the way on that one, but it was still not good to see. The drive back home was fine, but again reminds me that travel to cons is just a pain in the ass with a four to five hour flight and four to five hours of driving. It's getting harder to make that work comfortably. At least when I got home notice was there that my rubber pup hood had cleared customs finally.
I snagged the hood the next day, slogged through work and then got home, rubbered up, and then tried Livestream for about four hours. It was awesome, and I'll have to do it again. That's where http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15192274/ this guy came from. Just when I thought I'd gotten geared out for the weekend, the folks at Fantasy Fury contacted me today with a pic of my pony mask https://www.dropbox.com/s/e1opf7mvm.....I0005.jpg?dl=0 , which they say is ready to ship! So it looks like I'll have some rubber pony pics proper by FC... or at FC... if I go. >.>
*flops over panting and squeaky paws at work to make it go awaaaaay*
