ok so
a few nights ago i went out of my room to get something and when i came back in my cat was laying on my keyboard so i scooted her off, and after that day i've been having endless problems with video and audio on my laptop.
mainly i've been having issues with windows media player. with almost every one of my music files, it gives me an error when i try to play it. a box pops up and says 'Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file' and i KNOW none of my files are corrupted, because every other time they all play just fine. i'm also having issues when trying to listen to audio files online too, in both chrome and firefox. anD TODAY, media player has decided to shit itself completely and not play anything and i can't hear any audio on tumblr either, idk about youtube videos.
everything's up to date, my computer just updated a couple of nights ago and today i went back and made sure my audio drivers were up to date, which they are. but i'm getting reaLLY infuriated at my computer right now because i can't hear anything and i'm having to use my phone for music aaaaahahaha please help me how can i fix this,,,
i have windows 7 btw, and my laptop is an acer aspire if that helps anything.

when i go to web help it says 'Windows Media Player error C00D11B1' at the top btw if that helps any !
Try installing that and then see if WMP works

Yeah, sounded like a codec or file association problem, that codec pack fixed it to work on WMP again
