Well I guess I'm not going to be able to go back to the non-profit now. Just found out a fricken animal rights group got it shut down. That's really sad, it was a great place.

and yet, I'm a bit amused by you (being a furry) being annoyed because the animals rights activists got that place closed. I just find it really amusing..

Well there is a difference in animal rights as far as making sure the animal is cared for correctly and in a good home (the animals at the center were essentially pampered) and animal rights people that think all animals should be free in the wild and do dumb stuff like releasing animals that will die without human help or getting them put down like in this case because they don't like captive animals. They don't get that their big house and garage are on the land that use to be forest or whatever and many animals in the wild would be extinct already without captive breeding and captive animals for education like this center. I can damn well bet you any animal rights person you tell to demolish their house and property and put it back into habitat for animals would think your crazy and would never do it.

yeah, I know, certain 'animal welfare' groups go way to far in order to make themselves feel good.
over here we have mink farms, not the best and most animal welfare centered. I agree they shoudl bew closed or just maybe changed a bit.. But breaking in adn releasing all the mink, letting them loose on nature that isn't used to them really isn't a good idea..
I agree, zoosa dn the like the helps inform us about animals adn how to better treat them is very much needed..
