|| Trello| TOS |Business HRS/Schedule || Alright alright alright. So, I'm probably going to get a HUUUUUUGE influx of people about this subject but I really needed to say this before people decide to basically be like FHNSKSBGKSGESIHSFHSGBDGRKBESKEGSGKNFKSJFLJ;EIGH;HG;HGE;HEGSKBGKBGSIINDS.
As some of you know, there is an angel dragon fanpage on FB that is run by Telephone and 8 other admins (one of them is me).
I love the community, I really love helping admin the page and being able help others out. The community has opened me up a lot more, and has even been one of or the only brightest thing in my days when I have those slums of depression episodes. I came into the Angel Dragon community when it was still small and there were only a good handful of us. I joined the Angel Dragons because I wanted to support Telephone, and she has been a huge inspiration as far as fursuiting goes. I created my two Angel Dragons with every intention to be creative and figure out a way to be unique too, I want to be a good fursuiter like Telephone. I want to smile, I want others to smile, etc.
I didn't join the Angel Dragons because I thought they were cute or because of Telephone's popularity just to clarify. In fact, I didn't even KNOW Telephone was popular until several months later when the community suddenly exploded.
I joined the Angel Dragons because it was a small part of my life that seemed like SOMETHING was going right compared to all other things that has been going on. Click's eyes are literally like the sunshine in the darkness, it's why I created them like it. Fear is the impersonation of my inner struggles. I can go on. But I won't.
You see, the surge of the Angel Dragon community has been a struggle, but it has also blossomed in several ways while there are definitely the thorns in others. I don't care about the huge wall of rules, I don't care about the trolls, I don't care about all that. I care about the community. Yes, because it's a species that is under the watchful eye of all of us, there must be some set of rules.
The rules do have a purpose though, and I can talk all day the reasons why certain rules are set, but what I will say is that despite all the rules, there will always be that one person that can create a lot of drama. We are a freakin furries for pete's sake, there will always be drama, we're good at that. But as an admin, I can say that we are the better spectrum compared to other angel dragons that like to make things worse. We're there to help you not destroy you. Unlike others, who are slightly over protective and give the Angel Dragons a bad name....or several trolls outside the page...yeah... But sometimes, even us admins can't control what happens outside the community, and we do what we can to make sure people are happy and not ganging up on each other. It's a HUGE job, and some may not understand how difficult it can be sometimes to break up a huge fight in the comments on our page.
Think of it this way, there are 9 of us...and thousands upon thousands of you. We do what we can, and we're there to answer questions and basically be the authority of our own page. We have little to no power on what happens outside of it. We can try to help out, but whatever happens, all we can do is basically just be a regular furry telling you 'rings aren't allowed', 'your angel dragons name is similar', 'hybrid angel dragons aren't part of the species', 'your design looks like this one', 'porn of AD's is forbidden', 'that suit looks very close to PhoenixWolfs'. It's just a big mess that we can't always clean up. People are independent, and can do whatever the hell they damn please. But we keep tabs on those that are causing trouble, we know everything, people talk. We (including Telephone) all know about those 'fake Telephones', we know all the pages, we know the scammers, we know the AD's outside the community with rings, we know a lot.
Even though people can tell us about them, Telephone can't do everything either. All we can do is keep our walls up in our little fort and know about the thorns on our sides, and continue on with our internal plans to have a happy community.
I'm actually very happy with community, despite all the negative things that like to surround us all the time. We learn to live with it, and sometimes it really freaking sucks, but we keep our heads up and continue to move forward. We do obviously hate it when someone doesn't read, or when someone decides to make that porn of an Angel Dragon everybody is snickering at. But you know what, we've learned to not care. We can't do anything about it, and once it's drawn and out in the internet, what CAN you do?
So as much as the Angel Dragon community is the butt of the joke or the laughing stock, we're constantly made fun of, we get the occasional roll of the eyes whenever the name pops up; In all honesty, we can take it, no matter how much it truly hurts.
We are a strong community, we (mostly) love each other, and know when to keep each other in line. It doesn't matter if we're made fun of all the time, what really matters is that we're just another family of furries together within the community that so happens to be an Angel Dragon. I really appreciate seeing those people out there that see an Angel Dragon and shrug it off without needing to say an explanation on why you don't like us. We don't need people to like us all the time. What really matters is the people that do, because we are still furries afterall, we just have the tag 'Angel Dragon' on us. I'm sure that a big chunk of us are there to actively support Telephone in all of her endevours, because she is a very sweet, wonderful, and inspiring person who just so happens to become widely popular. I see Telephone as just another furry who loves what she does. I don't care that she's popular, I care that she continues to be herself despite all the negativity that swirls around her. I care about all of the Angel Dragons, I care about the admins, I care about basically making sure the Angel Dragon community continues to be happy within our little group.
I didn't want to sugarcoat anything, because this is literally all from personal experience. I don't want to seem like a white knight of any kind, I don't want to be that advocate of "ANGEL DRAGONS ARE AWESOME FHJKFJKJBWKLBIHOPQKEPQWJOHF:HF!!!!!", I wanted to tell you guys how it truly looks to me and how I truly feel about being part of the Angel Dragon community. You can say what you'd like, but I've said what I wanted to. I don't want to speak for Telephone in any way, but I can speak of her as a friend. There are things that people don't know, or people that like to spread rumours, but honestly, it's really something I don't want to speak about. It's not my place, and it's not my duty to white knight anybody. I've just written this as some kind of 'paying respects' to the community that has grown exponentially throughout the year.
