Heehee. Hey everyone!
I just thought I'd make a little journal to show you a video I recently created. The state of California is officially starting construction on the first dedicated High-Speed Rail route in six days' time! (January 6, 2015) The long-awaited civil engineering project will link the San Francisco Bay area to the Los Angeles basin in just under 3 hours!
More info about the project here: http://www.hsr.ca.gov/
Using Microsoft Train Simulator, some freeware stock, a freeware route (LGV Med 3.0 based in the South of France) and some freeware music I made a promotional video for the project. Feel free to watch, comment and maybe subscribe if you like buses, trains and ferries. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP3d8Q6ao8U
Explaining some of the video - LGV Med 3.0 is a route between Marseilles and Valence TGV/Nimes, which is a similar - albeit a lot smaller - route to the California High Speed rail project route between Los Angeles and Merced (the junction for San Francisco/Sacramento).
Locations are outlined below:
--- Marseilles St Charles as Los Angeles Union Station ---
--- Aix-en-Provence TGV as Palmdale ---
--- Avignon TGV as Bakersfield ---
--- Valence TGV as Merced ---
(The ICE-3 and TGV-R sets seen in the video represent XpressWest services to Las Vegas and beyond; XpressWest is currently pending a federal loan application approval)
Enjoy!

I'm just happy that we're starting on high speed train routes; we're decades behind other countries.
