Happy new years to you and yours! I hope 2015 will be a better year than the last. Here's to hoping and making the best of it.

With the new year, I believe I should switch things up a bit. Ive done the whole Art Slave thing for over a year and have had great time with it. Though thanks to particular feedback , I think its time to change it up a bit. Biggest part of the feedback I got was people unable to keep a secured spot in the auction and of course...auctions going out of their comfort zone. So in order to correct this, Ive decided to kill the auction route and make Art Slave like a bigger commission slot with the same benefits of the Art Slave.

There will be 4 Art Slave Commission slots. 1 for every week of the month.
The price of the Art Slave will be a solid $310 for a total of 6 hours worth of work ( can be paid via Paypal or Google Wallet )
Can be paid up-front or the week when it starts ( allowing folks to save if they need more time )

Hmm, seems like a better idea in my opinion. My question is though if you get a slot for art slave and you do streams for the artwork, do the commissioners have to be present like if something comes up or if they have other obligations on certain days like college classes?

You don't necessarily have to be present but it's usually preferred. As long as you give a detailed list of what you'd like he will work with it. Everything IS recorded and timed appropriately as well.

It's not until October but I need to save more than a few grand. If I keep steadily saving, I *should* have enough by May.

Honestly, I think that in the long run (if this new method goes this far), this will be more fair AND affordable for many more people interested in commissioning some art from you, especially if doing an (set price) art slave commission deal once a week every month will be manageable enough for you without increasing commission workload for you too much.

Myself, I'm interested, but I'll need to save up first, for sure! XD Hopefully this newer/trial method will still be around if/whenever I get around to it! :)

This may seem like a silly question, but exactly how many pieces of art are being done for the week? Is it just one piece worked on for the 6 hours, or is it going to be multiple pieces? I must say, $310 for more than one piece from you might be not too bad.

yeah its more than one piece XD. its multiples. depending on the complexity things can take roughly an hour or so. maybe even faster hehe.

How do you fill slots for 'Art Slave' commissions now? Random or first come first served?

I kind of prefer auctions every now and then - or at least randomly choosing people - because it means folks who can't jump on FA (who are working, traveling, family commitments, etc, etc) could get a chance to grab a slot. Otherwise it just tends to be the F5 mashers who grab everything :(

basically first come first serve. I know it may seem like a hassle but the auctions was even hard for folks to get in. This way when the new month begins people who want on can grab one. they are kinda expensive so i dont see a whole lot of buyers pushing for a spot. so you may have more of a chance than anything.
