It's approaching 9 years Soma and I have been together and it's been great for both of us. Soma is always there where I need him and I miss him when he's not so we're making the relationship more permanent. I've asked him to move in with me. Now this is complicated because he only lives 10 minutes away with his parents. He's always lived with them, except for a very short period, so they like and expect to have him around.
There's no real hurry in this but I want to move in that direction. So, we're working though alternatives concerning our long term living situation. There are a number of options;
1. Moving into a spare room is out because there currently aren't spare rooms and he needs absolute quiet to sleep so any of the existing rooms wound't be quiet enough.
2. We've talked about a multi-story "tower" addition on the side of the house. This is possible but complex, expensive and perhaps too difficult for Soma and I to do ourselves.
3. We're also talked about buying a separate property to develop and eventually move into. One plus to this is that the current place is a lot of work to maintain. We like the Poconos, Western PA and our West in Utah or California. These places are too far from friends and family though. We continue to look locally but nothing yet.
4. Cat has discussed building a "cat castle" since forever. This has become more of a Gothic cottage idea. It would be near the house and give him and advantage of the quiet of being in his own place while just step from my house. This is also a smaller, more manageable project so it's realistic.
I'll write as we do more thinking / research.

I do like the cat castle concept but if you guys ever need any help moving things around or an extra set of hands around to help out, I'd be more than glad to drop by and help out with whatever you need. I'm glad you and Soma are looking at your lives together bringing you two closer, it's nice to see you two running around with the dynamic you have between you two and it makes me happy to see you both smile when you joke with one another.

Appreciate your offer to lend a paw. Once string gets here I have an outbuilding to remove and rebuild and if you want to get involved then that would be great!

We're discussing exactly what to build but Soma likes stone so there's gonna be a lot of stone walls.
