Stolen from... somebody else...
[1.] What's the name of your character?
Dee Emmitt aka the superhero Dough Mutt.
[2.] Tell us about your character.
He's a fat dog-person with a shirt to small to cover his belly, a stubble on his face and a missing tooth. Works in a donut shop and fights crime as a hero.
[3.] How did you make your character up?
Back then, I wanted to get back into making a comic book since I hadn't done so in a while. I wanted to make a fun character to go with it too. A superhero character, with lots of subversions contrary to his appearance. So I made him into a fat superhero, with homely looks, and a ridiculous costume. I only did so because, I already had characters that came with your standard hero fare that was just like the many heroes out there. I just wanted to be different. I wanted to make a ridiculous looking hero, that was surprising competent contrary to his appearance and attitude.
[4.] Is it easy drawing your character?
It depends. It's easier to draw him since he's a pudgy guy. Chubbier people are much easier to draw than muscular folk because of simpler shapes. But if he's morphing into or morphing a body part into something can vary depending on what he's morphing into.
[5.] When did you make your character up?
In the end of 2011.
[6.] What inspiration[s] brought your character to life?
Well the inspiration came from various sources:
1) When I had the money and time, I'd spend it on eating donuts from Dunkin' Donuts. I thought I could make a character based off of donuts (since I had made food-name based characters before then.) The character I imagined before was a lot different than how he is today. But one thing that was the same was a dog liking donuts.
2)One aspect in his design was the dogface like characters from old cartoons, especially the ones made by Disney. It was something completely different for me to make a character that's unlike my other anthro species. Because of this, he lacks a tail like his other dogface characters, but he's still referred to as a dog. Let's say he looks like a missing relative of the Beagle Boys and just leave it at that.
3)Combining with the dogface aspects, and love for donuts, his superhero costume design is based off of Chip the Cookie Hound (One of Cookie Crisps old mascots), and the Fantastic Four's jumpsuit design.
4) His powers are inspired from Plastic Man than Mr. Fantastic or Elongated Man. You'll see why later.
[7.] Is your character dear to you? If so, how come?
Yeah he is. Maybe because I put a lot of effort into making him and his story more than most of my characters. Even though I haven't drawn him in a while, I do think about him every now and then. Plus he's the first fat superhero I've made, so that's something.
[8.] If you were forced to compare your character to another, who would you compare them to?
I... really can't think of anyone I could compare him to another character... at least not yet.
[9.] Is your character related to you in any way? Personality? Problems? Traits?
Well, we both like donuts and we both desire to be something great that can be a good help and a good inspiration for others.
[10.] If your character came to life, what would you do?
I'd hug and snuggle his belly... a lot! He would try to get me off and threaten to sock me if I don't let go. Eh, it'd be worth it. I also probably buy lots of donuts for him to eat, and ride on his back stretching and swinging from building to building in NYC.
[11.] Is your character a hero or a villain? How do you see them as?
DM is more of an anti-hero. He has the traits of becoming an ideal hero (like niceness, sincerity, willingness to help others etc.) , but because of his temper, frankness, and violent tendencies, keep him from being an ideal hero. He's more of a Good is not Soft variety...
[12.] Is your character a part of any particular story you made up?
The comic series! Which I have yet to complete and has been on a 2-year hiatus... after three pages!
[13.] What song//movie//book//play do you think of when you imagine your character?
...
I dunno!
[14.] Has your character changed in any way since you first created them?
Not much, I just made him a bit taller, tanned his skin-er... fur, and made his suit into a slightly darker shade of pink.
[15.] Make up your own question.
Nope! Nuh uh! x3
