in game recording problems???
11 years ago
ok guys so I'm trying my damnest to record my first Let's Play for the past 2 hours but I can't seem to get the settings right. now there seems to be a slight echo to my mic and when the game starts (like FNAF) my mic will get quiet during play so I can't hear the commentary I do very well in the test runs.
Anyone know how to make the mic sound better but keep gameplay sound smooth? I use Open Broadcaster Software as it's been the simplest to get around. I tried FRAPs but I couldn't figure out how to even record with the fucking thing. XAX;
Also, I'm planning on playing Five Nights At Treasure Island (the disney PhotoNegative Mickey version that's been buzzing around lately) so I don't think there's an in game way to edit the volume besides the Windows Mixer, and yes, I've fiddled with the Mixer and still haven't had very great results.
Just basic info, I have Windows 8.1, using OBS to record both game video, webcam video and all audio and my headset is a Plantonics RIG. before the game begins my mic sounds fine, but when game sound starts it's as if I barely even have my mic volume on at all.
If yall can help me please do! I really wanted to do a Let's Play today but I want my settings to be good BEFORE any real recording begins and I end up with a fucked up volumed video that I'd have to redo. I REALLY would hate to record shittily and end up not being able to edit it very well afterwards and then redo everything. Honestly, having to redo a game that is FNAF-like for recording wouldn't be as genuinely emotional as the first time around, so I want to do this right the first time.
help is appreciated, thank yooooou!

Do a test run with your render and make sure the file doesn't end up bigger than it should be. Movie reviews I shot with a friend of mine ended up being nearly 700 MB for a 25 minute video. Thankfully, I know what settings work best now.
so what exactly would I do? do I record myself with audacity, use OBS to record the video and audio of the game, clean up my audio then sync them in Vegas?
Again, just do a quick test to make sure the sound captures OK, and bear in mind, I've had NO LUCK recording my voice and game audio on the same computer, so your mileage may vary if everything is going into one place.
i'll run a few tests today though.
Good luck!
