I bought J Dilla's EP Ruff Draft on a whim the other day at Border's. Today we were listening to it in the car, and he asked me, "Hey did you ever listen to rap before you met me?"
And I said, "No...I guess I always thought, 'Well I'm not black sooo...'"
And he said, "I guess that's how I always used to feel about Slipknot and Kurt Cobain's band...I thought, 'I'm not white, so why would I listen to it?'"

seriously grody men under those masks, believe you-me. had to work on their lifecasts.
it was fun re-sculpting the tengu one, but damn those guys were impatient.
it was good to sculpt things with set deadlines, but i much prefer working on maquettes & creature masks (:
I really don't like their sound, also i saw them at ozfest & half the band is completely useless... most just hammer out some barely audible percussion with various blunt objects for a bit, then they just run around the stage hopping on amps & thrashing about.
i actually greatly enjoy masked & costumed showmanship, so long as everyone in the band contributes to the sound as a whole (e.g. Mr. Bungle), rather than having just a couple key players whilst the rest pander to the audience.

well, if you want damn good metal i could list several bands, but right now only Meshuggah comes to mind. guess i'm still charged from their recent show >:]
