Okay, I have a huge, huge favor.
(
) Voice's book, Abandoned Places, is on the recommended anthologies for the Ursa Major Awards. But it needs to be pushed so that it gets Nominated.
So if you have a moment, please sign up for the awards and put 'Abandoned Places, edited by Tarl Hoch' in the Anthropomorphic Other Literary Work section. http://www.ursamajorawards.org/nominations.htm
Goodreads link to the book info:

Thankies!

Read it and decide if it's good enough to vote for.

Like I said, I'm sure the book is great, but an Ursa Major is nothing to be proud of, to me. No offense intended.
There's always Koyotl's XD
In all honesty, awards to me are something that should be earned by merit, and considering that one can win an Ursa while being on staff (conflict of interest) with self published work not reviewed by anyone (potentially, and while I do realize self published work CAN be good, there is nothing at all preventing anyone from publishing anything, regardless of content, subject, quality, etc), with no measureable criteria (such as minimum sales or out of fandom awards), to which all one needs is two friends that will nominate and vote (any random user will do), and if one has enough fan appreciation, can hold the award ad infinitum (necessitating Kyell Gold to remove himself from consideration), and all the while the story could be complete garbage. Additionally, while the Hugo and Nebula awards have their own bylaws and wikipedia pages, the Ursa Majors does not have any such equivalent (other than their own page, lacking in criteria and rules for the group's operation), to which I would argue that winning a Hugo award is a lifetime achievement, whereas winning an Ursa will get you bragging rights, but won't help you sell your next book.
Again, I wish Voice luck, and apologies for being a Debbie Downer, but credit where credit is due. I'll wish him practical success and hope the book sells well.
