Stories And Me: An F-Channel Exclusive!
After my last journal got all of two comments, it sort of killed my drive to do anymore, but I guess I have a bi-annual resurgence of interest in these things, so... here I am! It's been a while, and I rarely have much to say, but I suppose I have to keep my feet in the waters of the community somehow (and it's not like I put out stories often enough for that.)
In that spirit, though, and to get it out of the way first: Amber's Spring Fling is almost ready for release. It's been pent up for far too long, stopping and starting in fits and surges, but I'm just about at the climax and ready to unleash on all of my unsuspecting readers!
... is it just me, or was there some multiple entendre in that paragraph? Eh, whatever.
It's a new year, and I'm trying to settle into a new routine. I am in my FINAL semester for my Bachelor's degree, only two courses to go. I have a brand new laptop I got with my final client payout from my side job (which has now officially closed shop for good), and even though it's an HP running Windows 8 I am hoping it will give me a little bit more freedom and flexibility to write. My debut amateur fight is one month away, so most of my energy right now is focused on eating (or not eating) and training, but when I'm exhausted and curled up in the ol' La-Z-Boy my urge to write is still there, so bit by bit I'm hammering out the final parts of the latest story. I got a raise at work, AND more vacation time, so although we're still on four-day work-weeks due to the economic slowdown, I'm still doing OK on the career front.
Basically, this is the first year in the last fifteen or sixteen that hasn't started off with me looking down the barrel of depression and bankruptcy. It's a new experience. I'm hoping it lasts.
Due to popular demand (which is to say, one person), I'll probably be working on Seeds Of Life next, as it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. The next chapter of Amateur Heroics is almost done. I'm 1/3 of the way through the next Odella story. That said, I also want to get the next two Amber stories done quickly, so I can fast-forward that universe (and a few others) into a more cohesive adult storyline. Her next two tales are a lot shorter (in some ways), so that shouldn't be too much of a stretch (darn you, entendres!) And after that...? I dunno. We'll see where the fates take me.
So I guess that's it for me. I've been pondering a new Meet & Greet, though we might have to rent out a stadium for this one... my living room definitely isn't big enough anymore to hold all my characters, or at least just the democratically-appointed representatives from each story. I make a lot of promises in these journals, promises I can NEVER seem to keep, so I'll just throw it out there that "I'll try", especially if I know there's any interest. I got a bunch of Favs and Watches from some people posting up stuff related to me (thanks to Brei, James, other James, other OTHER James, and a couple others!) and it would be cool to hear from new voices!
Cheers,
