help to fund this awesome rig/animation tool
11 years ago
oh man, this tool it's just The Best Tool for rigging on After Effects! I totally forgot to tell you guys about it, my bad! :P
this is meant for those aspirants or experienced animators on AE, it's a set of tools, but the most important is the IK (Inverse-Kinematics) / Bones section. I never know exactly how to explain how IK works, but it's basically how the bones of our arms and legs behavior, and that's the important part lol, for more info about IK, check it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverse_kinematics
here's some info about the tool, it's free and you can donate any amount for the developer if you like it (I totally encourage those who are making money using it to help this guy, he deserves!), inside there's several tools, including Rigging for character and Animation sets that will save you a lot of time and probably achieve some animations that would be quite hard to achieve by hand.
still! keep in mind that's a tool for HELPING you on the rigging and some parts of the animation, so don't rely everything on this hoping that it'll make all the hard work for you, it still relies on you!
that's not a "One-solution-for-all-your-rigging-characters", as every character rig is unique.
well, here's the links:

about the campaign
this guy it's been doing it for a long time but there aren't many tutorials and documentation about it as he doesn't have much time / funds to do so, that's why he launched this campaign.
as 50% is already funded, he'll be able to finish the tool and keep the site alive, but to make the tutorials and stuff, he'll need the full funds, so if you've more interest in get started with animations on AE or get better, give a shot, I mean, some money haha :)
there's a option that includes his own character rigged that you'll be able to see how it's done.

I've been using it for years too, it's very handy! specially after the implement of Auto-Rig and Zero out all the controllers :O
just got the Early User opt, just to be able to see what's new haha :)
Side Question
Isn't [inverse kinematics]available in Blender as an option or tool or something? I seem to remember that name from when I tried to make a character work right. lol. Now I just do 2d sprite animations in blender.. hehe.
I find Blender is good for some 2d animation as well as 3d sculpting.. I highly recommend it!
The Cycles render [GPU rendering] is a bit more difficult to learn but there are plenty of tutorials out there.
for 3D stuff I prefer use Cinema 4D, it's interface it's more for dumb artists and easy to understand lol
once I started to study Softimage, but give up due the lack of tutorials, it's tough when this happens, sometimes it's just better to move on and find another similar tool :|
BTW, I'm a Big fan of your work!
