The trouble with Patreon

It seems that since this thing has caught fire a lot of people I've seen in patreon seem to believe that if they put their content behind a paywall they will simply rake in the money easy peasy lemon squeasy. But for the vast majority of people out there they are simply wasting their time to be honest. Watch count, supporters, view count and quality seem to be the key factors if a person should even consider such a thing.
As a side note, this isn't a message because I cant afford to not support someone because I'm all about the porn. If you've watched me long enough you'd know better.

Not everyone can just make a Pateron account and expect people to come barging at their door with pockets full of cash bills to throw at them; most successful ones are already well known artists, and this creates a false image that EVERYONE and their grandmother can easily earn huge ammounts of money.
