Not sure mongooses are better, but they're perhaps the feliform equivalent of caniform's mustelids. Which said, perhaps fossa are more like mustelidae, being more diverse - as mustelids are diverse.

Strega is a pseudo-mustelid (and pseudo-mammal) who strongly resembles a stretched wolverine with an extra set of legs and various other peculiarities. She is weaselly enough to count, I think.

This post is totally misleading. I was expecting to see some red headed weasels with ugly sweaters with the first letter of their first names on it and a single black haired otter with a lightning bolt scar on his forehead in matching attire.

Not enough of us, to be frank. :) I did find out the other day that the martens congregate in a Skype chat. The stoats and long-tailed weasels sometimes show up en mass in demo weasel or Gavin's art streams, haha.

I have this species mix called the Silky Beardog, but it's more like a wolverine dog if you get down to it. It just doesn't roll off the tongue. Maybe I should call them Wolferines instead. :P The one I use for myself has wolverine based markings as well. :) http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14242945/

I've had an otter persona for aaaages, although I'm identifying more with my badger character of late. I've long had secondary marten and fisher characters, all of whom were female for some reason.
