Sooo...quit my job and moving out -_-

So after almost a year working under my cousin for his company I finally quit. For months he had been promising me a salary. I made him well over 500k(pure profit) and basically got 20k after taxes to show for it which I have to pay cause he would just write me a check no payroll so I am responsible for all the taxes on the money he paid me. Keep in mind till two months ago this was a 2 person business just me and my cousin but really it was only me working he spent months on vacation lol. 20k sounds like an ok amount but for a year in NYC renting my own apartment its sadly not enough so ill have to leave.
I literally did everything all he would do was drop me off at the office and I did all the sales all the invoices all the paperwork...everything.. All he would do is check his bank account when asked him if a wire came in etc.
There was no payment plan other then "If you sell something ill pay you for it" so id sit there for a week at a time working on things for him and not make any sales and get 0 payment.
When I came in his business was almost a joke. I organized everything and sold over 200 chassis units that he had been sitting on for over a year in the course of 4-5 months. Made me all these promises of being on a salary making sure id be ok.
Even suggested I get an apartment closer to the business which I did...So yea.. He lied to me for so many months. Missed out on work for weeks at a time because he was busy on vacations and blowing his money away on this exotic dancer he met a few months back which leaves him allll the time. Literally the day I quit she had left him again for another dude. I remember one month him sitting there saying how he blew 20k on her in one month...
So I don't have enough to keep going at this place and I went in to work on monday and spoke with him about it and he just sits there like nothing was promised nothing was supposed to be different. Told me "If you work really hard this week ill lend you the money and you can pay me back"...I got upset and spoke with him. I made him more money for him and his business then he did in almost 3 years combined. He sat there and said "You only make me money cause I let you make me money". All the while he had hired my oldest brother 2 months earlier that sits and drinks with him all day every day and was paying him when ever he wanted gave him a free trip to hawaii with him and all that nice stuff.
It feels like a double stab in the back. Me and my oldest brother don't get along he some how blames me for my mothers death. My cousin told me please just to deal with him and it will all work out and having him will benefit the business. I said ok and taught him everything and helped him out. As time went on my cousin just would take me to work and work less. Which is ok cause I can work from the home to however he stopped talking to me to. Then sat and got upset with me cause my sales were low. Told him try to make sales with out a boss around for 2 months. I could do it all on my own if he let me but he makes sure that he has to be involved in some way. I came up with the idea to advertise on ebay and craigslist even worked out the coding and links and even had my BF work on pictures to use for the business for free..When my brother came in my cousin said he would not effect me he was only allowed to do balitmore and he was using craigslist. A month later he was selling in all the states I was and I was unable to use craigslist even though it was my idea and I had it all worked out and worded...everything..my brother was even using the pictures I had nick make...My brother was always a terrible person but this was something I had never expected.
He owes me roughly 5k in pay. But since I am not on payroll have no idea how ill get it. During xmas he said he was going to give me a check for the money owed and instead gave me 800$ which included sales I had made for the week and said "There is the money owed. I only owe you what I feel I owe you. If anything you owe me money" Literally he said that...Wish I had recorded it.
So I tried to troop along and tough it out but its to much stress for me the thought of working for months for free sickens me and I can't do it any more. This is not even the half of everything I just needed to vent.
Thankfully me and k0suna have a place to go. Sorry if half of this does not make sense just stressed and needed to vent. Remember calling my dad up just wanting a hug. Never been treated this wrong in my life before feel so awful being used in such a way. Worked so hard for a year for him and taught my brother everything only to have this happen. Just depressed now but doing my best to stay positive. Move date is set for the 31st. Have no idea what will happen with the lease trying to speak with them and work out a deal of sorts where they have some else move in.

Also, lawyering up isnt a bad idea either if you feel you have a solid case and bring him to court about it. If you bring in ALL the checks and show you were paying taxes on them, you can sue him for lost wages promised and that'll get the IRS also involved.
Trying for workers comp isnt a bad idea either, doesn't help to try anything.
Like that guy above me said, def' get in contact with the tax agency, and get a lawyer to help you if you need one.

honestly though im glad you quit. they both sound lazy i doubt the business will do well without you.

So sad over all of this. I don't understand if some one is making you literally 100's of thousands of dollars wouldn't you want that worker to have a place to live and eat so he can keep making you money. His greed and selfishness is like out of this world he is so crazy -_-
Just call them woofy.
And see what they can do about it.
