On Vore, Death, and Evil

Every now and then someone will ask if Odontaspis "lets anyone out" after eating them or similar things about Gilrandree, though he's a bit harder in that regard, since he tends to rip people apart when he eats them. Sometimes people ask if I really mean for my primary original characters to be so dark and vile.
Odon and Gil are demonic predators, so when they take prey, the prey is basically done for in the context of the story, probably not only their flesh but their soul as well are devoured by the demons.
Odon and Gil, to put it simply, are evil. They are bad people, horrible monsters, vile murderers. They are, at the best, anti-heros, though more likely downright villains. They are a story's antagonist, not the protagonist.
They are the bad guys.
Why do I have them as my main characters, then, if they are so evil and bad?
Damn, it's fun to play the bad guy!

Aye. That it is!
You say that like those days are behind you, sir. They're not.
I admit, I am not familiar with silent-hunter, but I think the demons would approve, just based on his name!
This is why in most RPG's I end up being the one-hit-kill assassin that targets specific people and such. Dark Brotherhood was always my home in The Elder Scrolls games. I've never had more fun in those games than when I was doing that - this is the same reason I have a Sergal character that is decently vicious and aggressive.
