Ok guys...me again...Everyone's fave reclusive artist (still working on that ya'll, plz forgive me). Soooooooo is this supposed to be the scaryversion of MLP of something bc I see the shit EVERY"DAMN"WHERE now!! Just like when the new school MLP first came out....It's EVERYWHR!!! In ppls icon, in their art, in their journals, all over youtube and I'm justlike....WHY?!?! Friends made me sit down and watch SEVERAL compilation videos from Markiplier (at least I think that's the guy's name from youtube)just to see how I would react to it I suppose. I don't know if it's the fact that I've watched so many scary movies over the years that the whole "jump scare" cliche' doesn't work on me or that it's GENUINELYnot scary!! I mean...SERIOUSLY, who gets frightened by this?? Now before it sounds like I'm TOTALLY bashing the game(s), I admittedly like the story behind it...but as far it actually being scary....I'm gonna have to give that a big fat NOOOOOOOOPE!! Is it bc they're furry animatronics, the story, or that ppl actulally jump outta their chairs when one of these mechanized fursuits jump out at you from nowhere?? I just don't get it yall.
THAT IS ALL!!

As for the jump scares, they are just that, jump scares. I do like the general creepy appearance of the animatronics but other then that its not very scary. But I still like it as a whole, even if it does not scare me. Its amazing what the game accomplished considering how low cost and basic it is. This game literally could have been on the Sega CD back in 95 and had the same tech level. Its quite the feat.
BTW, Get back to work doing Peg porn!
^.^
Personally, I thought it was nice story-wise until I saw tons of people throwing up theory videos and throwing creepypastas based on it allover the place, then fnaf3's announcement nearly days after fnaf2's release told me stay away from the cash grab.
BUT the game design is very simple and very well made, the lore is well done and very interesting as it is never told directly towards you.
I understand why many fell for the game(s) no matter if it is because of furry robots or not.
Also have you lived under a rock? xD
The game itself is quite good, never played it myself but I have enjoyed seeing others react to it. But why is it popular? I think there is different reasons:
- Some people really gets scared by jump scares, but it is also about the amount of stress it gives to figure where the characters are to avoid to get killed.
- The game goes into some spesific kind of fears... now we didn't have any "Chucky Cheese" kind of places but some kids might have been scared of those things... and now there is a game with them which maybe taps into some experiences that the players had as kids.
I wantched Pro-Jared play the first one and he as well laughed at it and shared the same opinion as you, but he liked the second game because it was just harder.
All in all have it just been a good game created by 1 guy which is just amazing... gameplay is very simple and there isn't too much elements to think about other than "survive the night" which really works for many people.
But I am unsure of one thing... you just say you see it everywere but do you not enjoy it? I personally like must of the fanart out there.
Oh everything that gets big gets spread around, and theres always a bit of a backlash from late-adopters/non-adopters who just get bombarded by the sudden fanbase XD its natural.
As for the game itself, did you try playing it? :3 Its actually quite ingeniously designed. The experience of playing it is quite different from how you imagine it would be when watching someone else play it. Very clever psychological stuff at effect there.
