Someone mentioned to me during an LGBT rights meeting once that she never trusts surveys online about gender in fandoms, since in her experience, trans men and trans women both put down "men" in these surveys out of fear. With a fandom as full of trans folk as this one, I'm fairly certain that fucks with the gender ratios a bit ...
