You heard right. I will be going to join my coworkers soon and take the plunge in my town's lake for the Penguin Plunge event. Even my company's owners and CEO dive in with us. Call it crazy, foolhardy, or brave if you will. The money we have all raised for it goes to the Special Olympics.
When my company dives in, weather.com says it will be 2 degrees feels like -12 with wind NNW 9mph. If the lake water theory is right, the water should be warmer than the air, like it was 2 years ago when I first did Penguin Plunge.
I am all for the warmer water and for Winter Fest, which includes African drumming and chili judging. Loved their chilli variety.

I was right, the water was warmer than the air. Accidentally slipped a little, nothing major then did the usual dive in. ^_^
Had some nomingly delicious chilli there at their chilli fest. The chili thawed my body. Soooo worth. Cannot wait for the following year. ^^
