Ready for Anthrocon.. Sort of..

After the bar fight to get a room at the Courtyard, I ended up getting one at the Westin, (I was on the website holding page for 15 mins) I managed to get one reserved for Thurs - Monday. Except I'm arriving on Wednesday.. So I put in an E-mail to reservations to see if they can push the room for Wednesday. I hope they come through with it, otherwise I'll be driving up most of the way, finding a room someplace for Wednesday night, and arriving on Thursday, hopefully as soon as check in opens..

I sent an e-mail to the people at VisitPittsburgh as suggested on the Anthrocon website. I just received confirmation that my room at the Westin is now booked from Wednesday thru Sunday night.

If I didn't get a room at the Westin, I was prepared to go straight to the Courtyard website and book a room at full price of $209 a night.
My third alternate would have been the Hampton Inn for the breakfast buffet in the mornings..

I'd offer you crash space at my place on Wednesday but it would add 200 miles and 3.5 hours to your trip. I'd say your best bet would be to get a hotel for the night in one of the near suburbs southwest of the city if you can't extend your stay. There are a bunch on hotels in Green Tree right off 376 before the Fort Pitt Tunnel.

If I had not been able to get a room through them for Wednesday, my first course of action would have been to contact the hotel directly in June. If that wasn't successful, I planned to do exactly what you suggest, find a room within a couple of hours of Pittsburgh, drive most of the way up on Wednesday evening, and finish the trip Thursday morning. (and maybe miss the traffic back up for the tunnel)
I always bring all my suits.. I like to have the option of having them there, rather than leave one at home, then wish that I had brought it.. You never know who will be worn when..
It just kinda doesn't work out that way, except for the fursuit parade..
