Some thoughts.

Recent events have made me stop and think about stuff.
We lost two wonderfully talented people in such a short amount of time. First, we lost Kitty0706 back in January, and now we lost Monty Oum. Both of these guys were still fairly young, and they had fanbases all their own.
We’re reaching that point in time where Death comes by and reminds us that it’s still around. No matter how young or old you are, how many fans you have, what you’ve done or are currently doing in life…Death doesn’t stop for you to wrap up your affairs. It just comes and gets you.
And to that end, I stop and quietly ask myself…if Death came to me today, what would I be leaving behind? Kitty and Monty leave behind hours of entertainment on YouTube, the kind of videos that make people laugh, I have an unfinished book, a room filled with comics and LEGO sets, and a FurAffinity gallery full of porn.
I suppose my issue is that I’ve always wanted to leave something meaningful behind when I go - something that ensures my name, or at least Wolf Nanaki, are still being spoken hundreds of years after I’ve gone, so what I’ve done in my life will impact people long after I’ve left.
There was a story I heard a while back - I can’t recall where I heard it from - where a group of witches decide it’s time to unleash a new evil unto the world. They gathered together and showed all sorts of horrible, grotesque things that would surely freak people out and make life a living nightmare.
But there was one witch who didn’t bring anything, but instead, she told a story. It was such a terrifying, gruesome story that when she was finished, all of the other witches were visibly shaken. They told her yes, her story was the most evil thing presented that day, but asked her kindly to put it away.
But it was too late. She had already told the story. And once a story’s told, it doesn’t go away.
Our stories are being written and shared every moment we live. Every decision we make is part of that story, and it can never be taken back. So it must be imperative to all of us to give our stories happy endings. Show the people you care about the love and respect they need and deserve. Make somebody smile. Make somebody think.
Take your chance now, while you still have it. Take your dreams and make them into realities, instead of thinking about them every now and then and saying “maybe one day”. This is your story to tell.
Or something like that.
