Don't ever be a lifeguard unless you can withstand the urge to kill all of humanity and/or have the patience of a saint. It helped me be occupied at least, what with the old geezers bitching about everything, the kids being spoiled bratty delinquents, the teenagers cussing out loud, and so on and so fore.
