what are shadowrunners?

Player characters from the game "Shadowrun" sort of fantasy cyberpunk goons for hire. They tend to be a mix of magic guys, hackers, and guys who shoot/smash stuff. As player characters they tend to go about the crimes they are hired for in what is frequently the dumbest way possible.

I had been joking because stupid stuff kept showing up in the news this week that just screams this is an idea so bad that it has to be shadowrunners.

As a Decker/rigger. I find this untrue., I'm much too competant to be a hired goon. And do things the most /awkward/ way possible

I don't know... last time a runner said they were competent lone star knocked the roof off the building and started dropping heavily armed trolls out of a helicopter.

But that's the fun way.

They're shadowrunners if you hire them to raid th latex factory half way through the mission they'll discover it's dark secret, and do something stupid. Probably find out that the plant operates by force feeding dandelions to cow girls until they leak hypo allergenic latex from their breasts and udders.

Next thing you know they'll either liberate the cow girls or kidnap them or blow the place up and swear revenge on whoever did this to them. Then wear are you, hiring more shadowrunners to hunt down the ones who rustled your cattle.
