You can buy a car with $8000. It's a lot of money.

Everyone could use that money for a lot of things but the fact of the matter is we don't have it and that person does. So good for them for buying whatever they want with their money that's how I feel. I wouldn't want someone whining about how I spend my money, and when it comes down to it its all personal opinion here. Everyone feels differently on how that money should be spent. Would I spend that much on a fursuit? Hell no. Am I going to judge someone else for spending that much on a fursuit? That would be a big fat no again!

I agree with both point of views, yes with that money you could do lots of things with that much money, but you do what you want with it if that is getting a car or buying a fursuit it is that persons choice on what they do with that money.

and charity's need more than just money they could use some man power as well.

and on a personal note I had someone snip at me over the cost of one of my heads but they don't know how much time and money I put into it.most fursuit makers charge too little for suits and are barely making the money back for the cost of materials and time put into the suit.

one thing I can say to the grumps is if you don't want to pay a lot of money for a fursuit, learn to make one your self! if you can't and you still really really want one I hope they have a better view on what goes into the suits.

Really the price is justified in that a fursuit is a one of a kind art piece and famous artists can easily get paid that much if not PLENTY more for paintings, drawings, and so on. A fursuit maker is a famous artist within the community and I say if they get to make 8k once let them have it! I know I would be so proud to know that there were at least 2 people willing to spend 7-8k on a piece of art I made (since I'm assuming the bidding drove it that high).
