Still nervous about doing people's taxes, but at least I'm sure that I'm doing them correctly with the information being provided to me when I ask questions. Also having fun at the card shop occasionally on some days off. So I'm doing alright.

Just got me a job at Frederator, other than that, getting ready for my trip to Moscow in a few days!

I was walking home one night at 3 in the morning and passed by an old chinese women at a bus stop who didn't speak a word of english, totally alone in the middle of downtown under warm street light, as if she was waiting for someone. From what I was gathering she wanted to know what time the McDonalds was opening, so I helped articulate the current time, and what time the McDonalds was open. She showed me a watch she had, it was 2 hours behind. I corrected it for her, and when she realized what time it really was, she starting crying. I wanted to shoot myself in the knee just break the moment, looking down at this little old chinese women crying because I told her the time. I could have hundreds of long awkward moments for the rest of this year, and none of them, even combined, could be as long as the one I was having right there. Her mood changed suddenly then started laughing, then relaxed. She said her thank yous and I was off walking the rest of the 4 mile trek home. I walked up the monstrous hill to my place, got inside, and went to bed wondering what the hell just happened.

I woke up from this really strange dream to find I had a technicolor dreamcoat...

Spring semester is underway! The life of a grad student. And work might be in the offing, but I've learned not to get my hopes up.
