Oh same here. I'd actually like to go see Japan someday, for more than just the foxes, or the rabbits. I'd love to actually learn more about the country and its history from the primary source, as it were. Though I guess it'd help a lot if I actually spoke Japanese to do that.

I don't think I'd manage the language. Though it would be super cool to! Even a little would help though cause like a lot of places, there are probably a lot of people who speak some English around. Like here in Mexico so many people speak a little English and I speak a little Spanish....we can usually get a pretty good basic conversation going.

I doubt I'd ever be able to grasp Japanese, either. But it would be handy if I could learn at least a little. As you say, there are no doubt plenty of people there who speak at least some English, but it helps a lot to know some of their language, too. When I visited France, oh so many years ago now, I was with my mother and my brother, both of whom speak a little French, and it really did make things easier.

I'd love to try my hand at learning Spanish again someday. Maybe from a teacher who does more than just play Spanish soap operas at every class.

I've got good lessons on my compy, but like drawing, I never seem to want to allot the time to work at it. Too many other things I want to do.
