Monitor help!
16 years ago
Hey there! I need some help.. badly. I'm having gigantic issues with calibrating my monitors. I have three, and in the process of trying to make them suck a little less, I've made them suck to the point where I can't work on them any longer. I'm on the verge of going out to pick up a new monitor unless I can get this figured out. It's driving me absolutely nuts.
If you know a thing or two about monitors and how to un-fuck them or if you have any suggestions regarding awesome monitors to look into, then I would be extraordinarily grateful if you could help me out a bit. I have a Dell E228WFP, and a LG L1920P, and a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2070SB. I bought the Diamond Pro for about 100 bucks off somebody thinking I got away with a really good deal, but I've had nothing but problems with it. I screwed around with the settings when I got it, and reset it to factory settings, which for some reason fucked everything straight into hell. The geometry is waaaay off and its out of focus, and I'm about to throw the 65 pounds piece of crap in the garbage unless I can fix it with somebodies help. The Dell monitor was only about 200 bucks brand new, and again I thought I was getting away with something, but after working on it for so long it's becoming more and more apparent what a turd it is. When I look at the screen dead on, the top and bottom of the monitor have about a 20% shift in value, where the top is lighter and the bottom is darker... maddening. And the colors are also way off, and in my photoshop color picker there is a ray of pure color across the top where the entire box should be a smooth gradient. I wish I could explain it better... The LG is also a lump of poo. In the photoshop color picker, the bottom fourth of the box is pure black, where there should be a smooth transition all the way from the top to the bottom. I can't tell the difference from 85% dark grey to 100% black.
Anyways, if anybody knows of a monitor calibration tool that could fix all my problems, or any advice regarding calibration or a new monitor, I would be eternally grateful.
P-p-p-please help me ;~;
