Preach it--- oh wait... Show it!

The video makes some good points, however that isn't necessarily feminism as it exists. The argument that feminism isn't about hating men is similar to the argument that communism isn't about oppressing its people and removing their individuality, subjugating them tot he will of the state. In a utopian world, yes this is how both would be, however when put into practice, feminism often breeds MORE sexism than there was already simply due to the fact that many feminists take it to the extreme, and superimpose their personal disdain of men into their social cause. Unfortunately, the title of feminism has been tarnished and run through the mud enough that virtually no man will take it seriously without delving into the founding principles and WHY it's needed.

I definitely do agree that there needs to be egalitarian treatment of women and men in society and the workforce, but the people who campaign their cause by posting on facebook how "rape culture" is keeping women down or whatever... IT's just retarded to be brutally honest. In a historical context, oppression is newly falling away, so we can't expect thousands of years of societal structure to just change immediately in a few hundred years. IT's just not going to happen. There WILL be a time where sex, race, gender-identity, sexual orientation, or economic class will not be as much of an influence on quality of life, but we all have to work toward it as individuals, because society reflects the mass will of the individuals as a sum. And just so you know, while social media and awareness spreading is great, action does more.

Most today's feminists are people who think women should rule over men, which is why people hate it so much. I think it's increadibly stupid aswell. People should be equal no matter their sex, I think this was what feminism was originally supposed to be back in the day when women were in a lesser place, but such doesn't apply anymore, in most modern countries people are now equal - now we just need to fight and make sure people stay equal. Someone should probably create a thing called 'equalism' instead since feminism as a word is quite misleading (maybe that's the reason why so many see it in the wrong light).
