A Public Service Announcement about Kinks/Fetishes

Please note the following.
1. Just because "Kink A" sometimes includes aspects of "Kink B", that doesn't automatically mean that someone who enjoys "Kink A" also enjoys "Kink B", or vice-versa.
Example: I am into scat and watersports, including pants/underwear/shorts messing. But, I am NOT into diapers. Never have been, never will be. Nothing against anyone who is into it, but diapers just don't do anything for me.
Another example: It's not uncommon for people who are into diapers to actually dislike scat.
2. Just because someone enjoys a specific kink, that doesn't mean they're required to enjoy all aspects/varities of that kink, nor follow a set of rules or guidelines stating HOW they must enjoy it.
Example: I like scat, but 99% of the time I don't care for hyper or macro. Being into scat doesn't mean I'm obligated to like all aspects of it.
Another example: I like seeing art or reading stories of vore, but I do not care to RP it. I like vore only as an observer, not a participant. Deriving enjoyment from being an observer of vore doesn't mean I'm obligated to participate in a vore RP.
To each their own. Within legal boundaries, you're allowed to enjoy whatever you want however you want. :3

This grinds sharply against the plague of mental laziness and presumptuousness that runs abound.
As i say, generalizations generally have exceptions.
Labeling is annoying and this is a lot of why I tend to give really long descriptions when people ask what I'm into, rather than just saying "I'm into bondage, diapers, scat, etc" in some list. Same is true when people ask about anything else, not just fetishes. Like with music, I hate when people assume I enjoy all metal just because I like technical/prog/math metal, because I don't really, I only like that kind of metal for the technical/prog/math parts of it and don't care about the fact that it's metal at all really, I just like the way it's composed and would probably rather the same music have all synth/keyboard instrumentation or something personally.
Also, "within legal limits" is quite restrictive, especially considering some of the governments in this world. I don't see the need to make a journal like this political.
But in general I agree - different people enjoy fetishes in different ways, and that's fine :3.
I would add that being into them does not mean you want to RP them at all.
I hold serious issue with those who practice their rape and killing fantasies in stories and art.
pawing to something unusual like paws, saliva, or scat is harmless.
however those pawing to such a violent and dark acts proves they don't have a good sense of morals and need to be treated as possibly dangerous.
